Risk factors, features and outcomes of invasive non-typhoidal Salmonella in Vietnam Invasive non-typhoidal Salmonella (iNTS) infections cause illness and death in sub-Saharan Africa, but little is known about iNTS in Asia. A new study suggests that iNTS is a severe infection with a high mortality rate in Vietnam. The research also found that HIV infection was a risk factor for iNTS and that iNTS infections were most commonly diagnosed in HIV-infected adult men.
